TABLE OF CONTENTS

Active Groups

The groups index provides a list of every active group in your account.

  • Name - The name given to a group during the upload process. You can edit this after uploading.
  • Status - This is the group upload status. A group may be in an 'uploading' or 'active' status. Only active groups should be added to campaigns to ensure all numbers have reached their final validation state.
  • Valid ThruText Numbers - The count of valid, textable numbers from your group list.
  • Valid ThruTalk Numbers - The count of valid, callable numbers from your group list.
  • Upload Date - The date the group was uploaded.

Group Import Concurrent Limits

To ensure high system performance, there is a limit on the number of allowed concurrent group uploads per account:Screenshot of black text on a beige background showing that the account can upload 3 groups at one time.

  • When you have fewer group uploads in progress than the limit, you will be able to click "New group" and upload additional groups:Example of pink action button "New Group"
  • When you have reached the group upload limit for your account, the following error message will appear at the top of the screen if attempting to upload an additional group:
    • You have reached your maximum number of concurrent group uploads. To ensure high system performance, your account is limited to [x] concurrent group uploads. If you need to increase that limit, please email support@getthru.Screenshot of red error banner explaining that the admin cannot upload more than their allotted groups at the same time.

Group Size

Groups can contain up to 150,000 contacts. Our group uploader can process CSV files up to 45MB in size, although files close to this limit (44-45MB) may fail to process.

You will see an error if your file has more than 150,000 rows. In addition to the number of rows in a file, the number of columns also impacts the file size. If you encounter an error while uploading a group, remove all unnecessary columns before attempting to upload the group again. If you are attempting to create a group from a VAN external contact list and get an error, reduce the length of the list in VAN before re-attempting.

Local Phone Number Supply

An important reason to monitor group size is that ThruText messages and ThruTalk calls originate from local cell phone numbers that we obtain via a third-party provider. During the single use number campaign creation process, you specify up to 3 area codes or regions from which you want those local numbers to be obtained. Third-party providers have a limited supply of phone numbers for each area code. In ThruTalk (and ThruText campaigns in Canada,) when you target a campaign to a large group, they may have insufficient phone numbers in the 3 area codes or regions you select. The shortfall of numbers will cause the campaign not to launch and display a message indicating that insufficient numbers are available.
